At Intego Group and our clinical research division, Intego Clinical, we’re proud to champion the next generation of mathematical and scientific talent. We were honored to serve as a key sponsor for the Ibero-American Interuniversity Mathematics Competition, hosted by the University of Costa Rica (UCR)—a prestigious six-day event that brought together top university students from across the region.
This international competition showcased exceptional mathematical skill, collaboration, and academic excellence—values we deeply share and integrate into our work every day.
Our involvement in this event also reflects the long-standing relationship between Intego Group and the University of Costa Rica. Since opening our Costa Rica office, UCR has been a valued partner in our mission to foster local talent, promote innovation, and provide students and graduates with meaningful career opportunities in clinical research and statistical programming. This partnership has been instrumental in helping us build a strong, skilled team that continues to grow and make an impact globally.
We’re especially proud to celebrate one of our newest team members, Leonardo Loria, who earned a Bronze medal in the competition. His achievement highlights the level of talent and dedication we seek at Intego, and we’re thrilled to have him on board.
As part of the event, Diego Madrigal, Associate Statistical Programmer at Intego Clinical, delivered a compelling introductory talk on clinical trials for potential new collaborators. His presentation emphasized the powerful role of R—an open-source statistical programming language—in the clinical space, highlighting its emergence as a disruptive technology that is reshaping the way data is handled and analyzed in modern trials. We are proud to have Diego as a Subject Matter Expert in this area, and his contribution to the event reflects our commitment to thought leadership and innovation in clinical research.
Supporting events like this strengthens the connection between academic excellence and real-world impact. We are committed to investing in future mathematicians and are excited to continue building meaningful collaborations across disciplines and borders. Congratulations to all participants—and especially to Leonardo and Diego—for making this international event such a success!
